Who we are

Debut is an iOS app built and operated by Leonardo Cardoso, based in Berlin, Germany. For privacy questions, write to leo@a7t.ai. Full legal contact is in the imprint.

No account

Debut has no signup. Your device generates a random identifier on first launch; that identifier links your watched areas and your subscription, and it is not tied to your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID.

What we store on our server

We keep the minimum needed to tell you when a place opens:

• Your watched areas: a coordinate, a radius, and the categories you picked.
• Your Apple Push Notification (APNs) token and alert preferences (real-time or digest, quiet hours, per-area switches), so we can deliver alerts the way you asked.
• The places detected inside your areas, and which of them you have been alerted about.

That is it. No email address, no account, no location history: Debut never tracks where you are, only the areas you explicitly chose to watch.

What stays on your device

Your in-app preferences live on your device. When you are signed into iCloud, your areas sync through your private iCloud storage, which we cannot read.

Your location

If you grant location access, it is used while you are in the app to center the map and measure distances to places. It is not stored and not sent to our server.

Third parties

We rely on a small number of services, each for one purpose:

• Apple. Push notification delivery (APNs), private iCloud sync, and App Store billing.
• RevenueCat. Manages subscription state. It receives the same random identifier and your purchase receipts from Apple, nothing else.
• Cloudflare. Routes traffic to our backend.
• Map data providers. Our server queries public place data (OpenStreetMap, Foursquare, Google) by area coordinates. No user identifier is ever attached to those queries.

No analytics, no advertising, no data brokers, no social login.

Retention

• Areas and detections are kept while the area is watched, and removed when you unwatch it.
• Your push token is kept while alerts are enabled and pruned when delivery permanently fails.

Your controls

• Unwatch an area in the app and its data is removed from the server.
• Revoke notification or location permission in iOS Settings at any time.
• Settings → Subscription & data → Delete my data removes your areas, alerts, and device identifier immediately. It does not cancel an active subscription; manage that through the App Store.

Children

Debut is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page updates. The app keeps linking to this URL, so whatever is here is current.
